Research Center Open 9 AM to 3 PM Monday thru Friday and weekends by appointment - located in the Heritage Center
All public materials are located in the Research Room and include:
(Records and Abstracts from various county newspapers are available to use in the Center or may be purchased from the Museum Gift Shop)
1860 census; 1865 census; 1870 census; 1875 census; 1880 census; 1885 census; 1900 census – Flora & Willowdale; 1900 census – Grant Township; 1900 census – Center Township; 1900 census – Noble Township (Census records are available to use in the Center or may be purchased from the Museum Gift Shop)
All Non-Public Materials are kept in the archival vault and include:
Much of the non-public materials may be examined by the public upon request. 'Finding Aids' for the open records will be found in the Research Room. Members of the Dickinson County Historical Society may use the Research Center free of charge. There is a small fee for use by non-members. Researchers are asked to file a research application for each topic they wish to research and will sign in on the Research Log each visit. It is suggested that an appointment be made to ensure assistance on your project. There are also several publications in the Museum Store available for purchase. These include Census Records, Newspaper Abstracts, Cemetery Records and other materials. |
