The Dickinson County Heritage Center is a great location for group tours and offers many activities and benefits for those who choose to visit. Group discounts are available. Contact the Dickinson County Heritage Center today to plan your next trip to Abilene, Kansas.

Pioneer Camp is an opportunity for youth from second grade through fifth grade to experience the ways of their ancestors. Sessions use the Heritage Center's cabin setting and involve participants in cooking, cleaning and other daily living activities required one hundred years ago on the Kansas prairie. Skills include churning butter and baking the bread to spread it on. Visitors to the Heritage Center during the two weeks of camp often become involved in the activities, adding to the education for process as well as the fun had by the "campers." Sessions fill up fast so contact the Heritage Center early and often in case of cancellations.
